Job description

The incumbent in this role will oversee the end-to-end portfolio strategy and execution, including channel and influence initiatives brand activation, loyalty and engagement. This role will drive the regions to achieve the joint sales and marketing KPI and will monitor and track the deliverables on an ongoing basis. It will also undertake all national and regional interventions to drive volume, margin, and customer engagement.

The role will also oversee revenue management for the category ensuring optimum pricing in relation to the market through an insight based and proactive approach, and also drive the margin KPI’s at national and SKU level to meet organization objectives.

Category Manager – CVL Specialities is part of the commercial marketing team which will provide support to the sales team to penetrate, expand and grow market share by achieving targets for volume, reach, activation, revenue and driving profitability.

1.Category Manager is pivotal to drive the growth aspiration journey for Highstreet business

2.Critical to support team in expanding reach and activating influencers for the category.

3.Important to keep track of the price and revenue movement in dynamic industry situation

4.Deployment of GTM digital initiative and brand initiatives for engaging and extraction from channel & Influencer.

5.Sound knowledge of Traditional & Digital Marketing, including Market Research.

6.Category Management and Data Analytics Experience

Category management & Brand Awareness

  • Lead the category with thought and insight based leadership and gear up the business for market challenges with right category interventions
  • Drive product opportunity basis market mapping and execution by liasioning with business heads, supply chain, finance and technical.
  • Developing long term strategy of the category to be future ready in conjunction with developing technology and environment norms
  • Analyzing data & insights to determine industry and consumer trends,

Segment focus on developing volume/market share

  • Drive Automotive – Category and core brands focus and portfolio rationalization to optimize volume/ market share/ EBITDA
  • Monthly product/sku/category wise sales trend analysis and driving distribution basis co-ordination with sales, supply and procurement team
  • Identify market opportunity to become formidable No.1 or 2 player in given space of category

Pricing ownership:-

  • Understand and drive price realizations across the value chain and consumer/retailer/distributor in collaboration with NTMM and Sales Leaders
  • Recommendation of trade schemes and price changes basis cogs/competition price movements/revenue target

Topline volume & bottom line EBITDA delivery for the category:-

  • Drive volume delivery in collaboration with sales team
  • Ownership and execution for schemes/pricing/EBITDA for category
  • Product brand communication/visibility for the category
  • Activation of brands to create brand and sales impact in market
  • Creating and executing segment wise communication modules for Automotive Products

Prepare and execute category business and brand plan:-

  • Generate Consumer insight based category plans
  • Drive sales volume & profitability of portfolio as per objective
  • Drive Sales volume & profitability of Focus products / pack as per objective
  • Distribution/Outlet penetration for category/key products as per objective
  • Driving the strategic price positioning of category as per business and brand plan
  • Ensure Quality and impact of brand
Requirements

MBA in Marketing from Premier Institute with 8 – 12 Yrs. of relevant work experience in category management, experience in sales will be an added advantage.

Requirements:-

  • Preferably has experience in a sizable company that involves multiple stakeholder mgt.
  • Has good commercial mindset for managing margin and costs.
  • Stakeholder engagement skill is critical
  • Ability to work with external strategic partners.
  • Domestic travel (normal frequency) is required to work
