The Transformation Capabilities Leader will provide cross-business unit leadership and guidance to advance BI&A’s capability groups:
Omnichannel analytics (40%): Work closely with the onshore BI&A Transformation leader to structure, deploy and refine Omnichannel analytics capabilities, from descriptive to advanced analytics work Data Engineering (30%): Work in tandem with the onshore BI&A Data Engineering leader to map out transition of the BI&A’s work to the cloud, including implementation of automation opportunities Data Democratization (30%): Work with LCCI BI&A business team leads and the onshore Data democratization leader to identify and implement a plan with the right balance between self-serve and customized dashboards and analytics.
Project Management and People Leadership Expectations:
Deliver and implement a standardized framework for communication, project management and execution across capability groups and business-focused teams
Build, deliver and own a quality management framework to increase deliverable quality across stakeholders with a range of tolerances and maturity in working with offshore centers
Create and implement upskilling plans for LCCI team members within the affiliate team and/or across the 3 capability groups
Serve as trusted career advisor, and work with Functional Leadership and HR to identify career opportunities for these team members, both systemically (career path development) and with individuals as needed
Develop a pipeline of analytics talent and leadership, and contribute to an inclusive community of analytics expert practitioners
Strategic Growth and Thought Leadership
Integrate working model for analytics capabilities across BI&A teams, and where possible, across other LCCI teams to drive better cross-team resourcing, cross-pollination of best practices and expansion of LCCI capabilities

The LCCI Business Insights & Analytics team was started in 2017 with the objective of using innovative data mining and analytics to support business decisions to Marketing functions in the US and ex-US affiliates (focused on in-line and pre-launch brands). This team has rapidly grown and currently comprises ~80 analysts with a wide range of backgrounds and skills in data management, analytical techniques, pharmaceutical commercial operations, and consultative problem solving, with work supporting and driving Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and a range of other functions across Lilly.
To better meet the evolving analytics needs of the organization, the LCCI BI&A team has recently been building ‘horizontal’ capabilities to enable the ‘vertical’ business-unit focused advisory teams. These capabilities include Omnichannel Analytics, Data Engineering, and Data Democratization, and will be led by the Associate Director, LCCI BI&A Transformation Capabilities. This leader will:

Interface with the IDS (Lilly IT) and AADS (Advanced Analytics) groups within Lilly to pull through innovations and best practices that accelerate capability builds and technology adoption, while managing delivery expectations
Network with industry experts and external consultants as needed to develop, test, and implement new approaches and solutions for analytics capabilities at LCCI
Required Skills and Expertise:
Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in an analytical function (BI, data science, forecasting etc) supporting Pharma/Lifesciences Commercial ops internally or in consulting; at least 4+ of these in leading teams and transformational programs
Proficiency in SQL, and at least one of R/Python/SAS
High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations
Demonstrated ability to enforce business rules and policies in a constructive but disciplined manner
Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver and delivering complex cross functional projects
Substantial analytics experience and understanding of complexities in specialty markets, analytics techniques, and US pharmaceutical business
Proven ability to rally resources to achieve project and business results
Preferred Skills:
Quantitative background in engineering, statistics, mathematics, sciences, analytics, finance, or an MBA
Strong analytical skills coupled with business acumen, and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
Experience using common data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
Working knowledge of the AWS tech stack, especially as applied to enable analytics
Broad awareness and working knowledge of data engineering and omnichannel analytics
Demonstrated ability to influence change with senior stakeholders across Commercial and IT
